It's been almost a month since we moved into our new home now, I am writing this long due letter to express our deep gratitude for your help throughout the house buying process. We were new in the area and this was our first time to purchase a house. Knowing that we were inexperienced and trying to be cautious, we started with agent shopping. After having dealings with 7-8 agents, we were hardly satisfied with any one of them. We found a lot of them not knowledgeable enough about the area, or not able to understand our needs, while some simply not being very helpful. Among those agents, there were quite a few very reputable ones. Carrying the disappointment . . . we were referred to you. That is the turning point in our house buying process--we finally started house hunting instead of looking for an agent. Later on you showed us what a right decision we've made by being selective with buyer's agent, and what a great difference a good agent can make! We are so happy that we met you. On our very first appointment, you sat down with us and asked about our needs and our plans, then showed us various types of properties in different locations, we discussed about every one of them. The second time and every time afterward were very productive, apparently our voice was carefully heard, and you understood exactly what we were looking for. Our house search was most efficient. Almost every property you showed was at certain level of interest to us. I can still clearly remember most of them because very few were being excluded from my memory. You didn't miss any property either. You always accommodate our odd hour appointments while you just had a new born baby girl. We appreciate that! You were always on top of everything and one step ahead. Understanding exactly the community and type of housing we were interested in, you have contacted agents you knew that is most likely to represent the sellers in those area, and sure enough, we became the first ones to see those houses that we were most interested in. That is how we found our dream house. Find a suitable house is just the very first step in the whole process, it's like a prelude. From that point on, there are more to come, from ratifying a contract to finding the right mortgage company, from inspection to settlement, from carpet company to locksmith. Every step on the way, you were there with us, sharing your knowledge, giving valuable advice, seeing over and taking care of everything. I can hardly imagine that we could ever do it without you. Now I start to understand how your family found the largest Long and Foster office in the area, it's your resourcefulness, your integrity and honesty, not to mention your understanding ability, and remarkable ability of paying attention to details, those probably come from a good "gene". I don't know how a real estate agent could be better! I would surely recommend you to my friends and anybody of interest without reservation. Just as my husband has said if we stayed in the greater Washington DC area, you will be the one to take care of all our real estate needs in the years to come. We just want to say we truly appreciate what you have done for us.

I think (maybe I told you this) that one of your greatest compliments may have come from my daughter Laura, who works for [a real estate broker]. When [the broker] found out that we had listed 9130 with you, she asked why not with our son-in-law who also works for [the broker] and Laura said, "It's the Schucks!" [The broker] just said, "Oh." That said it all.
This letter is to belatedly thank you for your help purchasing our new home . . .[we are] very happy with our house, and much appreciate your assistance in helping us get smoothly through our first home\ buying experience! In terms of assistance that we found valuable, we very much appreciated that both Greg and Steve presented the pros and cons of buying a house in a straightforward way. In fact, when I first called Steve about the house, I asked him to talk me out of being interested -- and he did! He presented the financial implications of owning a home short term and pointed out that it would not be a good investment if we only planned to stay a few years. After we changed our scenario to including owning the home for a longer period of time, we talked ourselves back into going forward -- with no pressure from anyone. Throughout the process you helped us examine issues from multiple angles. While you were clearly interested in having us go forward, you respected our concerns and helped us find constructive ways to address them. You demonstrated extensive knowledge of services related to home buying. We appreciated the suggestions of electric, heat/cooling and inspection services, and your suggestion that we seek competing bids. The vendors you recommended have proved to be reliable and reasonably priced. The home inspector from American Home Inspection Services, Inc. [Dan Patkus], was very thorough, and provided us with a tremendous education on how various systems in the house operate. He most definitely did not offer a rubber stamp service, which reflects well on you. We were also pleased with Joyce Crowe and Prosperity Mortgage, and with your help in translating the language of mortgages. Finally, we appreciate your flexibility with time and availability throughout the process. I am sure we drove you crazy with requests to show the house to mother, sister, aunt, uncles, etc., plus multiple vendors, but you patiently met each request. By being available in the evenings and on weekends, you helped us to minimize our own absences from work. Thank you again, Greg, for your clearheaded approach and for your patience. We would be very pleased to be a reference for the Schuck team.
I needed to sell my sister's house for her since she has Alzheimer's and can no longer handle her affairs. I chose Steve Schuck, as my realtor due to a recommendation and reviews. I live in CA, so we had to handle all the arrangements from 3,000 miles away. Steve made it so easy for us. We followed his advice and guidance and he handled all renovation work needed and showing and selling of the house. All was arranged in a timely manner, and he kept me updated in everything he did.
