With the Potomac River to the east and north, McLean, VA borders Washington, DC and Maryland. Named after a former owner and publisher of the Washington Post, the community was formed in the early 1900’s. The 22101 area of McLean is closer to DC and the 22102 area of McLean is located inside and outside the Beltway and part wills also be referred to as West McLean and Tysons. The area is home to businesses such as Capital One, Booz Allen Hamilton, Freddie Mac, Hilton Worldwide and the Gannett Companies. The 22101 area is largely made up of single-family homes that span a wide price range while 22102 has large areas that are also single-family homes and then several areas of higher density housing.
